InkPaint

Create beautiful artwork on the go with InkPaint for iPad.

InkPaint allows new and experienced artists alike to quickly create beautiful cartoons or illustrations, through its distinctive four-step work flow:

  1. Rough out your drawing in Sketch mode.
  2. Neatly outline your work in Ink.
  3. Color your drawing with Paint.
  4. Use the Shade tools to add depth.

With InkPaint's unique "stay in lines" feature, the Paint and Shade tools stay within areas defined by the Ink pen.  This lets you quickly color or shade just the part of your drawing you want, without straying into other areas.

If you would like to improve your artistic skills or learn a different style, try the built-in drawing lessons.  These include step-by-step instructions, and any step can be placed into the background of your own drawing to trace lightbox-style. Check the built-in store for new lessons to download instantly to your library.

Next is a tutorial video, showing the complete process of inking and painting a drawing.  We began by sketching a cartoon on paper, and scanning that into the computer.  Then we transferred it to our photo album via DropBox.  You could also do this via email or a web server.  Once there, we imported it into the background of a new InkPaint document.  See what happens next:
